WOOD BURNING FIREPLACE*

This is a wood burning fireplace, please only use the wood provided. To start the fire, ensure the flue is open and place some crumbled newspaper with a few smaller sticks in the fireplace. Light the newspaper and wait for the sticks to catch fire. Once the sticks are burning well add one or two logs in a way that promotes airflow (a common method is the triangle method or stack the wood perpendicular to each other). Avoid using flammables and fire starters as they can cause dangerous flame flare-ups. Once the fire is going and the flue is sufficiently warmed up you will notice a decrease in smoke. Take the time to build the fire slowly to avoid excessive smoke and allow the fire to full working temperature. Use the tools provide to stoke the fire to keep it burning longer.
*Do not leave fire unattended with the door open
EMERGENCY FLASHLIGHTS*

These little flashlights are located all over the house and can be found plugged into wall sockets.
The light should turn on automatically when un-plugged or in the event of a power outage, but the on/off toggle switch is located on the front of the flashlight if needed.
*Please return the flashlight to a wall socket when not in use.
